Located
in the South Pacific, east of Fiji on the international dateline is
the small kingdom of Tonga: friendly people, crystalclear blue water
and white sandy beaches.

A little
paradise where the world's day begins. |

Tongan
Beach Resort

Our
base in Tonga is the Tongan Beach Resort, located ideally on the
natural channel between the town of Neiafu and some of the best
reefs in the South Pacific. There is excellent snorkeling right
in front of the resort and we'll use our own private chartered boat
to snorkel some of the more remote areas.

Snorkeling
and marine life

Besides
snorkeling with the Humpback whales, Tonga offers excellent reef
snorkeling in calm, crystalclear water. Colorful hard and soft corals
form the background for an amazing variety of fish, lobster, anemones
and other invertebrates.
One of the most amazing fish is the clown- or anemonefish that lives
in and around its host anemone.

One of
the things that make Tonga so special are the limestone caves. They
have an open entrance to the lagoon, so no freediving is required
to see the big schools of baitfish hiding inside and the sun's rays
filtering in at the end of the afternoon.

We'll
also have an opportunity to meet with some of the locals, during
a visit to the weekly market and the town of Neiafu. Weaving is
one of the most popular activities and the basket, hats etc. make
great souvenirs.
