Overview
See for Yourself Digital Coastal Photography Workshop. As with Sea for Yourself programs, this See for Yourself workshop will embody the mission of providing strong educational components with a solid logistical foundation. The workshop will include both photography and digital imaging instruction with an emphasis on expanding your creativity and refining your photographic style.
The California coastline stretching from Monterey to Big Sur is a natural collage of bold headlands, whose uplifted rocks have been shaped by wind and waves over centuries and where beaches are strewn with carved stone, bright colored algae and sand. In the tide pools along the shore, anemones, sea stars, barnacles, limpets, crabs, and other marine life keep time with the ebb and flow of cold Pacific tides. Marine mammals including Califonia and Stellar sea lions, harbor seals, and southern sea otters cavort in giant kelp forests as pelicans, cormorants, herons and hawks soar in the skies above.
From our home at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, we'll sharpen our photographic skills daily at locations including Asilomar State Beach and the famed tide pools of Point Lobos. We'll also travel south of Carmel along the dramatic Highway 1 coastline leading to Julia Pfeiffer State Park in Big Sur. These locations provide some of California's most intriguing and evocative coastal features and will be an ideal photographic environment. |
