Diverse fringing, patch, and barrier reefs lie just off the island of Kadavu, our home during the program.

Our doorsteps led to a beautiful white sand beach where the gentle lapping of the sea put us to sleep each evening.

The hard corals covering Kadavu's shallow reefs are literally breathtaking. The colorful corals, both soft and hard, create a living city for numerous fish and invertebrates. |

Often you wouldn't know which way to look underwater. Gorgeous corals surrounded us while bright reef fishes flitted about in the light currents.


A visit to one of the local villages and to an elementary school provided insights into traditional Fijian culture.

Everyone in Fiji seems to be musical in one way or another. Local singers entertained our group on several occasions.

The snorkeling conditions we experienced were just about perfect.
